Unlockable:
Acquire Bandana (Infinite ammo):
To get the Bandana, you must NOT submit to Ocelots torture test. You will get the bandana after beating the game then starting a new one.
Acquire Stealth:
To get Stealth, you have to submit to Ocelots torture test. You will get the stealth after beating the game then starting a new one.
Tuxedo:
Beat the game twice but with the 2 different endings. (One for Otacon, one for Meryl).
Red Ninja:
Beat the game twice.
Digital Camera:
Beat the game after submitting to Ocelots torture test.
Easter Eggs
Annoy Mei Ling:
If you call Mei Ling multiple times without saving, she will get mad and stop talking to you.
Hideo Kojima Ghost:
After beating Ninja in Otacons lab, take a picture of Otacons transformer. Then reload the game and see the picture.
Tips
Easier Boss Fights-
Raven (Tank):
The first time you fight Vulgan Raven is actually pretty easy. When you start the battle, immediately equipped the Chaff grenade and throw it. Stay behind the rock until it goes off then go to the tank. Equip the Grenades and toss them on highest level of the tank as you can. If you are lucky and directly hit the top, you will inflict 50% of damage, killing the 1st soldier shooting at you, stay putand get ready to throw another grenade by holding Square. You will then watch a cutscene of another guard to come out and shoot. When that movie is over, immediatly let go of Square to toss another grenade hopefully getting the same area.
Psycho Mantis:
Plug the controller port into port 2. If you are on the PS3, you can do this by holding down the PS button and reassigning the controllers. He will then not be able to read your mind and you can attack him more easily.
Liquid (Against REX):
Stock up on as many Chaff grenades as possible, throw a new Chaff about every 5 or so seconds. This will not make him an easy kill, but REX will be more confused and some of the weapons will be put out of commission.
Cardboard Box Travel:
Depending on which cardboard box you have (you can check in the List Items menu) will determine where you will be transported. You need to equip the cardboard box in the back of a cargo truck and wait about 10 seconds for a cutscene. For example, if you climb in the back of a cargo truck and equip the Heliport box, you will be transported to the Heliport.
Avoid Claymore Mine traps:
In any area with claymore mines, use the mine detector if you like, and crawl on the floor to pick them up.
Save Otacon:
Submit to Ocelots torture test. Otacon will be saved at the end of the game, and he will give you Stealth.
Save Meryl:
Do not submit to Ocelots torture test. You will get a bandana from Meryl which gives you infinite ammo.
